Recruitment Only

How does the Recruitment Only service work?

Our Recruitment Only offer is a headhunting service where we source amazing full-time remote staff for your company. We focus only on South Africa as the remote talent there is simply amazing and we have a depth expertise in the market.

The service follows four straightforward steps:

Call + Job Spec: We start with a call to understand your needs and craft a job spec. Once the job spec is agreed, we share it with our network and advertise on the job market.

CV + Screening: We sort through stacks of CVs, selecting top candidates. They undergo tests and interviews, and we present the best 5-10 candidates to you.

Final Interview: You meet the top candidates via video for final interviews and make your choice. If you don't click with any of the shortlisted candidates, just let us know and we can invite more candidates for your selection.

Hire: Once you've made a hiring decision, you engage your new candidate as an independent contractor. We will share a template independent contractor agreement you can use.

How much does the service cost?

We charge a one-time sourcing fee of £2,500 ($3,500) for our Recruitment Only service.

What type of talent are you able to source?

We can help you hire any remote staff you need - from virtual assistants, marketers, operational staff, finance people, software developers, managers and even executives.

Are these my staff members?

Absolutely. We only recruit full-time, dedicated team members who are fully committed to your business, just like any other employee.

What if I don't like the candidate I hire?

Our Recruitment Only service includes a 90-day candidate replacement guarantee. If within the first 90-days you aren't happy with the person you hire, just get in touch and we will find you a replacement candidate at no additional cost.

Why should I hire from South Africa?

Most skilled South Africans are native English-speakers and are a perfect cultural fit for Brits and Americans. The South African education system mirrors that of Britain, boasting the prestigious University of Cape Town, which is ranked among the world's top 200 universities. South African's are hard workers, ambitious and keen to impress international companies. Finally, there is a huge wage bill arbitrage opportunity by working with skilled and remote South African talent.

Will South Africa's time zone work for me?

South Africa's timezone is UTC+02:00 (GMT+02:00), which works perfectly for companies based in the UK, Europe and the Middle East. It can also work well for American companies (for example, work get's done whilst you sleep and one can still catch up with team members in the morning).

See how your location relates:

  • South Africa is 1-2 hours ahead of the UK (no daylight saving).
  • South Africa is 6 hours ahead of EST time and Latin America.
  • South Africa is 9 hours ahead of Pacific Time.
  • There is no time difference with Paris, France.

Recruitment + Employer of Record (EOR)

What is an Employer of Record (EOR)?

An Employer of Record (EOR) is a service provided by a third-party company, like ours. It enables you to hire people in other countries with us acting as the legal local employer on your behalf.

How does the Recruitment + EOR service work?

Our Recruitment + EOR services includes us sourcing an amazing candidate for your business as well as us acting as the local Employer of Record (EOR). Hired candidates are your employees, but we act as the local entity managing all aspects of legality, payroll, and HR obligations.

How much does the Recruitment + EOR cost?

Our Recruitment + EOR service consists of a one-time sourcing fee of £2,500 ($3,500) + £250 ($350) per month per candidate for all EOR services, including onboarding and off-boarding staff, full local tax and legal compliance for hiring in SA, payroll, and HR support. It also includes a lifetime candidate replacement guarantee.

Why use an EOR service?

Similar to most countries, South Africa maintains distinctions between self-employed individuals or contractors and full-time employees. Notably, misclassifying contractors could expose your company to substantial fines and penalties, underscoring the critical importance of accurate classification to maintain compliance with local regulations. This is why a EOR is a safer option when hiring remote staff.

Can I still terminate a candidate's employment if you are the EOR?

Yes, our employment contracts include a three-month probationary period with your new hire. After the probationary period our employment contracts can be terminated with two months notice. Our Recruitment + EOR service also includes a lifetime candidate replacement guarantee.

Why use Sauce's EOR service?

Our edge lies in our depth expertise and knowledge of the South African talent market. We are SA experts in Recruitment, Labour law, Payroll, Tax, Compliance and Accounting.

What are the types of leave / holiday in SA?

Annual Leave: All employees are entitled to a minimum of 15 working days of annual leave per year. This constitutes paid time off for employees to take a break from work and recharge.

Maternity Leave: Expectant mothers are entitled to 4 consecutive months of unpaid maternity leave. It's worth noting that individual employment contracts might offer more favourable and extended terms beyond this minimum requirement.

Paternity Leave: A minimum of 10 days of unpaid leave is granted.

Adoption Leave: When an employee adopts a child under the age of two, they are entitled to a minimum of ten weeks of adoption leave. This applies to the primary caretaker and can commence either from the date the adoption is granted or the date when the child is placed under their care.

Sick Leave: Full-time employees are eligible for paid sick leave. The number of days an employee is entitled to is equivalent to the number of days they would typically work within a six-week period over a three year term. There are more details regarding sick leave that are based on each company’s policy requirements.
